Cotone Makò: the king of fine yarns
Cotone Makò is one of the most prized varieties of cotton in the world, known for its extraordinary softness, strength, and shine. This cotton originates from the fertile lands of northern Egypt, a region located between the Nile Valley and Delta, where the mild climate and high humidity promote the growth of fibers of the highest quality.
The processing
The harvesting of Makò Cotton is done manually starting from early March, a method that preserves the integrity of the fibers and ensures an excellent quality level. After harvesting, the cotton is carefully spun and woven on a 36-gauge loom, meaning one needle per millimeter. This process guarantees thin, light, and highly performing fabrics.
Unique Features of Makò Cotton
- Extra long fibers: Makò Cotton stands out for its fibers that reach 33-35 mm, ensuring a fine and durable yarn;
- Softness and shine: the particular fiber structure gives the fabric an extremely soft feel and a natural brightness;
- Strength and durability: Makò Cotton undergoes a three-stage twisting process, making it exceptionally resistant over time;
- Exclusivity: this type of cotton is extremely rare, representing only 2% of the world production.
